The next step will be for you to register with this website so you can login to your training. You do that by following this link: http://www.stepfamily-help.com/wp-login.php

Once you follow that link, you should see this screen:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fill in the required information and then click “Submit Registration” at the bottom of the page.

You’ll automatically be redirected to the “Thanks for Joining!” page. Click on the “My Coach Training Course” link to access your training.

You’ll also receive an email shortly with confirmation of your registration with login and password reminders and a link to the login page for future use.

Please check your spam folder if you don’t receive an email from WordPress within the next few minutes.

Accessing the training program

To access the training, you can either use the link in the email you received in order to log in, or if you’re already logged in you can go directly to “Members” tab on the main Stepfamily-Help.com page. Additionally, you can bookmark the link: http://www.stepfamily-help.com/my-course/

When you access your training, it should look like this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then click on the course “Certified Stepfamily-Help.com Coach Training Program” to access all modules. It should look like this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once you’re in the training, you’ll also see an outline of the program in the right sidebar.

You must move through the Units in order. If you try to skip ahead, you will get an error message. 

Make sure that you use the purple “Previous Unit” “Next Unit” buttons to move between units, otherwise it can get confusing as to which unit and module is next.

 

 

 

Slides:

Each module begins with slides. You’ll want to enlarge the slides by clicking the box with the arrow in it in the upper right corner of the slides. You can also choose to download the slides and print if you’d like to take notes.

Client Education: (Included in Units 2, 3 and 5)

The slides are then followed by “client education” documents that I use with clients.

You do not have authorization to give the “Client Education” to your clients, but the information is for your education and for you to use in your coaching sessions. You do however have authorization to use the coaching questions and exercises contained in those modules with your clients and I have provided them to you in the last unit called “Coaching tools.”

Audio Files:

After the Client Education in each module (except #1) there are audio files for you to listen to. These are recorded sessions with past coaching students and are crucial to your training.

They are highly valuable because this is where I’m expanding on the slides provided to you and answering questions that the students had. Each student asks different questions, so there is a wealth of information for you in the those audio files.

Completing Units:

After you complete all sections of a module (Slides, Client education, Audio files) you’ll want to click the green  “Mark as Completed” button at the bottom of the coursework. And then the blue “Next Unit” button to move to the next unit. See below:

Sample scenarios:

At the end of the training there are 6 questions that were posed to me by real stepmoms. I’d like you to answer each one with the line of questioning you might ask her if she was your client, write down any thoughts you had about her question and what direction you might take her if she were your client. You must submit your answers in order to receive your certification.

Once I receive notification that you have completed your training, I will contact you to schedule a time for us to review your training. This will give me an opportunity to answer any questions you had about the content during your training.

Then I’ll coordinate with you to schedule your two practice coaching sessions with real clients.
